My Chamber Valley Connection
by Jerry Van Houten on November 9th, 2015

O.K., it's BLOG time.  My mind is saying, blah, blah, blah.  Why do I need to write a blog and who's going to read my blog anyhow?

There's so much information out there already.  At the click of Google, you can find reams and reams of information on pretty much anything you're interested in, so what do I have to offer?

I guess the only thing I have to share is what I'm doing here in the Central Valley with MainStreetChamber and what I hope to accomplish with it.

I have always been intrigued with the idea of building a better mouse trap as the saying goes, and I've been involved with local city chambers for quite some time.  When the opportunity to own my own chapter of a national chamber in my area, I jumped at the opportunity as I wanted to develop a chamber that offered more value to its' members than just the directory listing and networking events.  I wanted to bring leadership programs and offer tools and programs that truly enhance and assist the small business owner.  In a sense, I want to build the ultimate chamber program that its' members truly appreciate and get excited about.

In order to make the Tri-County Chapter of MainStreetChamber truly successful, it has to work and collaborate with our local city chambers and local network organizations to bring true value to them as well.

We recently helped out with the Modesto Chamber's Central Valley Business Summit as a "Community Sponsor" and are hosting Leadercast on May 6th in 2016.

I welcome any ideas or suggestions you might wish to share on how I can make MainStreetChamber a chamber you would be excited to be part of.
